That Killer Feeling emerged from the quiet, ongoing violence of assimilation—those moments when blending in means laughing along, shrinking yourself, or pretending not to notice the harm. I wanted to explore what happens when repression finally shifts into clarity, and when reclaiming identity feels both terrifying and euphoric.
By framing cultural erasure as literal horror and self-acceptance as something feral and dangerous, this film uses dark comedy to expose how often we are taught to fear our own identity. The abandoned shop exists as a space where love and revenge coexist, and where choosing yourself is not gentle—it’s messy and unapologetic.
Ultimately, this story is about what we bury to assimilate and to survive; and the unsettling truth that choosing yourself can feel dangerous, excessive, and—ultimately—liberating.
